The story of an ordinary man thrust into extraordinary circumstances, MOSES is a tale of courage, tenacity, and unshakeable faith. Portrayed with original brilliance by Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley, we see a Moses who is actually human--with doubts, fears and inner struggles. Although chosen by God to free the Hebrews from enslavement and deliver them to the Promised Land, Moses is an unlikely hero. Separated from his people as a baby and raised as the brother of the heir to the throne of Egypt, Moses is at first reluctant to heed the call of God. Yet once he does, he proves to be a steely and unyielding leader under the most trying of circumstances. The journey lasts forty years and presents many challenges--pursuing armies, famine and false idols--but in the end Moses does succeed in leading his flock to freedom. Moses' strong faith averts disaster throughout the years, from the manna falling from the sky to the parting of the Red Sea, and serves to illustrate what perhaps Moses knew deep down inside all along--he could not ignore God's call. |
